UCD St Vincent de Paul society is one of the largest and most active student societies on campus. Our members volunteer in a number of community projects around Dublin including soup runs, homework clubs, youth clubs, hospital visitations and homeless shelters.
The society holds social events for members, as well as fundraising events such as ‘Homeless Week’ where students sleep rough outside the James Joyce Library to aid and raise awareness of homelessness.
UCDSVP is a great way to get to know people on campus, while making a very real difference to people’s lives!
The general aim of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul is to help those who are marginalized, acting as a short-term safety net for those who fall outside the care of the Welfare State or need emergency financial support, while promoting self-sufficiency.
As a college society we act on this general aim by volunteering in community projects around Dublin, as well as providing assistance to students in UCD who find themselves in difficulty.
